UP Police Computer Operator Vacancy 2024

Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has announced 930 vacancies for directly recruiting UP Police Computer Operators. Category-wise details are as follows:

UP Police Computer Operator Eligibility Criteria

To apply online for the post of Computer Operator in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department, interested candidates must criteria as follows:

UP Police Computer Operator Application Fee

Candidates from all categories (UR, OBC, EWS, SC, and ST) are required to pay an application cost of Rs 400. Applicants will be able to pay the required amount through various online payment modes and physically via E Challan.

UP Police Computer Operator Selection Process

As per the official notification released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board, the selection process for the post of Computer Operator Grade – A will consist of multiple stages as mentioned below-

• Written Exam (Online Mode) – Computer Based Exam will have 160 Multiple Choice Questions each carrying 1.25 Marks. A candidate must score at least 40% marks (normalized). Shortlisted candidates will be called for the typing test.  The final merit list will be made based on the marks scored in this exam.
• Typing Test – This test will be qualifying in nature, for selection a candidate must pass the typing test with 85% accuracy and minimum required typing speed. Hindi typing will be based on the Unicode Inscript Keyboard and the minimum typing speed required is 25 Words per Minute (WPM) and the minimum English typing speed required for the selection is 30 WPM.
• Document Verification – A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks achieved by the candidates and the reservation rules of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who have qualified for the typing test and have been included in the merit list will be called for document verification.

UP Police Computer Operator Exam Pattern

Computer based exam will have four sections, with a total of 160 MCQs each question carrying 1.25 marks. The exam duration will be 2.30 hrs and negative marks won’t be awarded for incorrect responses. As per the previous year’s question papers, the following are the marks weightage across 4 sections:

• Introduction – History, Evolution and Generation of Computers, Organisation of Computer system, Hardware, Software, Peripheral Devices, algorithm, flowchart and Number system
• Database Management system – Data organisation, File management system, database concepts, relation Data Model and Basic Concept of Database, Popular Database Management system –  Fox pro and oracle with SQL etc.
• PC Software and Ofiice Automation – Office system and procedure the need for office automation, electronic capture, storage, graphics and graphic user interface, electronic data interchange.
• Workplace productivity tools- word processing tools, electronic spreadsheets, electronic presentation tools, Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power point, Access), Open Office, Using these tools in English & official Indian (Windows, Unix and Unicode Fonts), Exchange of files across these platforms.
• Computer Networks – Types of networks, Network topology, Risk assessment and security measures and security issues, LAN, MAN, WAN.
